Pleasant Pheasants watercolor

Hello and thanks for stopping by today. I have a fun and easy watercolor project to share with you today. But it’s a different bird than usual… pheasants! My love of birds is reaching very long to include this stamp set, lol. I am not particularly fond of pheasants as much as song birds but this couple is adorable! Pleasant Pheasants watercolor is a natural looking, uncomplicated project that will be easy to duplicate for your Thanksgiving card stash.

Painting Pheasants for Thanksgiving

There are Fall themed stamp sets that will work really nice for Thanksgiving and there are specific stamp sets made just for the special day. My family does not go all out for Thanksgiving with our children being very young and all. I do like to get them involved in some table decorations and crafty projects in preparation for Thanksgiving, in order to help them learn to develop a giving heart and be thankful in all things.

Being the first time inking up Pleasant Pheasants stamp set, I chose to stamp in a waterproof ink and StazOn Jet Black is perfect. After the ink and watercolor paper are set and dry, I added diluted ink from a few stamp pads and just had fun adding color. The color combo from Paper Players this week lent itself nicely to these pretty birds and the sketch from CASE this Sketch worked out too! After the card was assembled, I added a few tiny stones by the bird’s feet to resemble gravel.
