DIY Christmas Banner
This project is serving a few purposes. First, this banner looks great in my Family Room just behind our Christmas tree. The kids like the whimsical look of the colors paired with all of the fun elements. Second, I am using sup some of this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit! I used the sentiment holders, sequins and branches from the “To You & Yours” kit. Oh and the stamp set as well 🙂 Last but not least, it’s a really easy project to inspire your own holiday crafting. What’s better than something you can make yourself and keep around for years to come?
Don’t miss out on the video tutorial below that describes exactly how the DIY Christmas Banner is assembled.
Each end of the ribbon that has strung the banner together is adorned with a cluster of branches and a bow. I’ve also added more of the branches on the edges of each banner piece. The characters from Santa’s Workshop DSP are fussy cut (or use the accompanying framelits) and they are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Sentiment is from the Paper Pumpkin kit and stamped onto one of the paper die cuts from the kit as well.
The letters on the Banner pieces spell “J-O-Y” and are die cut with the Large Letters dies. There are two doe cuts for each letter, one in Real Red cardstock and the other in Sparkle Glimmer Paper. The red “shadow” helps the letter stand out on the Santa’s Workshop DSP. The holes to thread the ribbon are created from the Detailed Trio Punch.
The sentiments in this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit are really whimsical and lighthearted. Perfect for the theme of this project. The banner was attached to the wall with Command hooks/strips and will come dawn easy for storage in tissue paper after the holiday season. We will enjoy it again next year 🙂
