So in Love diagonal sentiment card with video

The Occasions, or Spring, Catalog release from Stampin’ Up! is approaching soon. Here is a sneak peek into one of the items that I am excited to share with you. Falling in Love Designer Series Paper project ideas are already popping up around the internet. In the video I made, I show you one way to use them to enhance an easy cardmaking project. Making a card that let’s the patterned paper do all of the work is a great chance to keep it simple. Simple card designs are a great way to make in duplicate.

The card stock, patterned paper and ink were selected to coordinate with one another. I used a Blushing Bride card base measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ after scored and folded. To decorate the card front, I used a piece of vanilla card stock and patterned paper. I cut a piece of patterned paper at a diagonal (just eyeballed it) and the patterned paper is laying directly on the card base. This technique gives a good deal of depth to the look of the card. I used a sentiment from So in Love stamp set, also from the upcoming catalog, to match the free and loose mood to the project.

This piece of patterned paper is incredible. The images in the pack have a “photo realistic” look to them, meaning they look like photographed images. Real images but very, very close up. The reverse side is a nice coordinating print. This project came together very fast, as it was kept simple to allow the paper to do the work it was intended for.

This paper is very easy to use. It can handle being the focal point of your card or flip it over and allow it to coordinate. I can not wait to show you the other papers in this set as well. Occasions Catalogs have been mailed out so keep watch out for the mail. Be sure to check out the dies too!  Lets make it together 🙂
