Hello and thanks for stopping by to check out today’s new papercraft project. This week the WWYS Challenge is stamping with A Little Wild stamp set. Gorgeous images that will fit any occasion card, and I mean ANY occasion! I’ve made lots of guy cards with this set but opted today for a more peaceful card that will suit any friend in need.

How to create a plaid background with markers
One of the really great things about having a technique at hand is being able to customize the design for a new project.
This project started with the plaid background. Creating this technique is really easy if following these steps:
First: Select two main coordinating colors that will easily distinguish themselves from each other. (these are Granny Apple Green and Petal Pink in my project)
Second: Select a shadow type of color for the lightest shade of your two main colors (this is the light brown in my project)
Third: Draw a flat, wide mark with one of the main colors across the paper, diagonally, with equal spaces. Then use the other main color in the opposite direction, matching the space between the lines. The base colors are in place now!
Fourth: Back to the first color- use the bullet tip to enhance one edge of the drawn line, with the same colors and making it darker. Now do the same for the opposite direction.
Fifth: With the final color, the shadow to coordinate with the pink, draw a line along the inside edge of the pink shade using the bullet end of the marker.
I created a video with this technique in another project and have shared the YouTube video below…
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase.
Having more ways to create a focal point on your project can make a project work for you. I hope you like this project and will come back to visit often! Thanks for stopping by today.
