Hello and thanks for stopping by today! For the November Be Inspired Blog Hop we are creating projects with a focus on Vellum paper. When thinking about what sort of project card to create, it was a quick decision to grab the brilliant new Merry Christmas to All stamp set. Beautiful fonts and phrases to fit most Christmas theme projects Pairing these gorgeous words with a vellum halo lends an angelic look. Check below to find all of the links to the Design Team’s projects, you will love what they have created to share with you!

Be Inspired by Vellum
There is something magic to me when working with Vellum paper. It’s versatile enough to create 3D projects and still look beautiful used as a layer on a handmade card. And embossing on Vellum paper always wows! Using it’s properties to it’s best potential, embossing stamped phrases or words give a beauty to my projects. I had the idea to fussy cut around the embossed words to leave a sort of halo around the words, thus creating a sentiment that is nearly see-through but still sort of glows.
Creating a sentiment with a halo can be done on Vellum paper, or cardstock and have a unique look. The difference is that Vellum paper will give a more see through look on the finished look. Start by treating the paper with an anti-static powder (Embossing Buddy) then stamping the sentiment with VeraMark ink. After sprinkling on and shaking off the loose powder, carefully heat emboss the powder. After it’s cooled down, use Paper Snips to cut around an entire word at about 1/8″ from the stamped letters. It’s okay to curve the angles and be generous with the halo in sensitive areas, the look will be the same.
I have created a visual demonstration of this technique and project at my YouTube channel, CLICK HERE to watch now.
