Sponging die cuts | with Video
Hello and thanks for stopping by today. Here is a beautiful color combination… deep purple, rich green and mellow green. When seeing these colors and thinking ideas to create with them, I headed to my supply of patterned papers. Nature’s Poem DSP has this gorgeous two toned paper in Blackberry Bliss, perfect to accompany the greens. Today we are making die cuts onto the DSP and adding color by sponging die cuts. It’s really interesting to see the changes appear on paper.

Creating depth to a piece of patterned paper can be as easy as adding rich color.
Finding just the right piece of DSP is the fun part for me. I look for a piece of paper that will give a background texture, such as the the varied purple tones. Flipping the paper over, I noticed that the opposite side of the paper would take color really well. Grabbing a few sponge daubers and stamp pads and we have a brand new look to the same piece of DSP!
The stamped sentiment is created from the Falling For Leaves stamp set. Isn’t this a gorgeous sentiment? The green on green tones in the leaves and sentiment echo nicely with the background DSP and it all works together in harmony.
