Hello and thanks for stopping by to check out today’s new papercraft project. I have a treat for you today… a sneak peek at an upcoming bundle from the 2019 Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. The First Frost stamp set and Frosted Bouquet Framelits are one of my favorite items, although there are so many great new products to choose from. There is a really distinctive look to these images and my first project with this bundle will be color layering with First Frost.

First Frost…. sigh. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Wait until you see the paper that goes with the stamps and dies! For my first try with this set and when testing out a new stamp set I like to start small. Small images in a small setting. Knowing how the stamps will react with markers, stamp pads or even embossing is important if I want them to work well in my crafting.
Together with the Stamparatus, I used a few Stampin’ Write markers to layer color on the small flower image. The markers I used are Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather. By starting with the light colors applied to a small area of the stamp, applying this to the paper while the stamp is positioned in the Stamparatus and then adding the next darker color on top of the first stamped image…. color is built up in layers and creates a unique and realistic contoured look.
