Technique Week Day 3.5
Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Welcome to Day 3.5 of Technique Week at my blog and YouTube Channel. I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s project, you can see it here. Today is a project focusing on the silhouette technique. This is an easy look to achieve with the Enjoy Life stamp set. The images are perfect for this technique, let’s take a look.

measurements for this project
Basic Black card stock card base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Basic Black card stock layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ + scrap for die cut
Whisper White Thick card stock panel: 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″
Another creative technique I hope you will try- a silhouette image blazing with color
This technique is really easy to adapt to different sorts of products in any craft supply. Today’s project shows an example of both silhouette stamping and silhouette by die cuts. The best way to get striking results is to create a brilliantly colored background. The bolder the better! Imagine this type of technique with winter colors and it will lend a completely different look but with the same process.
One of the most important factors with this technique is perspective. The stamps I used from Enjoy Life stamp set have done the perspective work for us, the images are in the proper proportion. For example, the butterflies in this project are an acceptable size to the stamped grass. The butterflies however are not in the proper perspective for the die cut florals. The butterflies appear tiny compared to the florals. Not that the florals shouldn’t be on the project, they just appear closer to the viewer than the stamped images – as if they are closer to me than the butterflies and grass.
I did not create a video for this project but I do have one for a very similar project with this technique. The link to watch the video is HERE on my YouTube Channel.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase.
Having more ways to create a focal point on your project can make a project work for you. I hope you like this project and will come back to visit often! Thanks for stopping by today.
