Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Today is the Autism Awareness Blog Hop, where we are creating projects with a theme to help bring information and awareness to you. Below are links to all of the blogs in this Hop, showing more ideas, as well as a link that will allow you to donate directly to the Organization for Autism Research.
If you are new to cardmaking, crafting or blog hops, here’s how it works:
-a group of blogs are linked to form a chain that share a common theme
-cardmaking and crafting are more of a passion for some and we craft as a creative outlet while providing a craft to share with someone in our lives. Being passionate about people as well, we are helping to spread awareness through our crafting
-many of the projects linked today are created using products from Stampin’ Up! , who is a premier supplier of crafting supplies to the public and crafting community
Autism Awareness Blog Hop
Crafting for a Cause; Autism
If you are new to my blog, I’d like to share something about myself. I am a mom of two young boys, both living on the Autism Spectrum. It seems the more I meet new people, I learn there are so many more people living with Autism than are diagnosed or is the general public more aware of. Bringing light to the world, individuals with autism are unique and special people. They often are extremely caring and have “super powers” that would be hard for some individuals. My youngest son is able to totally manage up to 5 tasks at one time and handle them well, while my oldest son has the most remarkable memory and compassion that I have ever known. I often craft for them, their caregivers at school and other individuals that lend support.
Here is a link to allow you to donate directly to the Organization for Autism Research, in an effort to assist individuals living with autism and bring more awareness. Please select Maria Willis’s Team.
a few things you can learn and support those with autism are:
measurements for this project
Whisper White Thick card stock card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Whisper White card stock panel: 4″ x 5 1/4″ matted on a black panel that is 1/16″ larger
scrap of Basic Black for the sentiment
Autism Support Theme Handmade card
I’m a big fan of easy to complete projects and having great tools to make that happen is a plus! I used the Watts of Occasions sta mp set to visualize the unique and special qualities of an individual with Autism.
The card front panel is mounted on a black panel that is just a scant larger, for the tiniest little black border that matches the stamped lines in the light bulbs.
Next up is the beautiful Denita Wright-Smee. I encourage you to visit all of the amazing projects!
Jenny Hall you are here!
Having more ways to create a focal point on your project can make a project work for you. I hope you like this project and will come back to visit often! Thanks for stopping by today.
