Sometimes all it takes is one little flower to inspire a project. I am inspired to color and fussy cut these pretty little Art Deco style flowers and let them really take the focal point. Stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I first used the color lifter to fill the flower area with fluid. Once the area was saturated, I dotted the blue at the base of the petals and let the paper carry the color up through the fluid. It’s a technique that is similar to the wet on wet watercolor approach.
Fussy cutting the stamped image was not a problem with this tip:
When trying to fussy cut in a vey small area, leave an equal area of space around that part of the image and fill it in with the same color as the inside of the image. I cut down close to the stamped line but left enough paper to allow the image to be stable. Once the green color was added, it is not apparent that there is more paper surrounding the image in these areas.
