Hello and thanks for stopping by today! For the February Be Inspired Blog Hop we are creating projects with texture. I have chosen the texture of embossing paste, die cuts and the texture of all of these combined.

Cake Soiree stamp set
So far this year I have featured the Cake Soiree stamp set in many ways. Today’s project features a cake in all of it’s possibilities! The new Shimmery White embossing Paste is perfect to work the new Sweet Soiree stencils that match the Cake Soiree bundle. By combining these items, I have precisely placed sparkling icing polka dots on the cake. They are just asking to be touched.
Building texture in a project
Building texture on the cake with the embossing paste is an aspect that can be felt. The next aspect to fill is visual texture. It’s not always easy to get the look of depth and texture in paper. An easy avenue to pursue is with die cuts. The Sweet Cake Framelits dies cut away not only the stamped images, there are other dies that cut out detailed images. I used these detailed die to cut out Glimmer Paper roses that will sparkle and highlight all of the other colors in the project.
Tossing in an ombre stamped flower helps to easily steal the show. Enhancing the eye even deeper in the project is a panel of pink ink blending, placed directly behind the cake.
