January Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Today is the January Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop, featuring projects made with the theme “love me tender”. This Valentine’s Day card is inspired and created from the offcuts of a card I created earlier this week. Utilizing scraps of paper and leftover pieces from other projects can lead to a really fun new creation.

Heart Happiness stamp set

Having worked with Heart Happiness stamp set a few times now, it’s great for creating Valentine’s Day cards but can be so much more! Hearts and handmade cards kind of go hand in hand. To add to the stamped hearts, I grabbed the letter offcuts from a previous project, die cut a few hearts and tossed in a word die from Celebrate You Thinlits. Voila!

All that’s needed now is a technique. My favorite background technique is watercolor smoothing. With Pink Pirouette stamp pad, I dabbed it to a scrap of plastic and spritzed on some water before dipping on a panel of watercolor paper. Then with the cluster of hearts from Heart Happiness stamp set, I stamped in Berry Burst for a messy look. This background was really fin to create.
