Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Do you have special photos that are sitting and waiting to be scrapbooked? I certainly do! Every holiday season brings me more special memories to record. For today’s project, I am participating in a scrapbooking blog hop. Many other crafters and I have linked our blog posts together to enable readers to “hop” from one project to another. Most of our projects will feature the same color design as well, in hopes of giving lots of ideas for you to craft.
Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop
measurements for this project
Whisper White card stock page base: 12″ x 12″ & Petal Passion DSP 12″ sheet (torn)
Scraps of Basic Black & Whisper White card stock for mounting the photo and sentiment
die cuts from scraps of Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Whisper White and Basic Black
Cake Soiree stamp set & Sweet Cake Framelits dies
My project started with a photo of my husband and I that is in black and white format. It’s a wedding photo so my thoughts went over to the new Cake Soiree Bundle. Creating a cake can be easy or extravagant, and I opted to create the look of a wedding cake. The die cuts were too easy to decorate this lovely cake and floral spray.
The colors we are crafting with in this design team are Coral, Green and Black.
Using a color theme in a layout
Black and white photo + green leaves + coral flowers
Building the floral elements for the cake and floral spray to match the simple elegance of the cake, I chose to keep the colors simple. All greenery is Old Olive, the flowers are stamped in black and either left uncolored or shaded in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. To give a more relaxed atmosphere to the crisp black & white elegance, I made an easy horizontal tear in a sheet of Petal Passion DSP. Layering this on a strip of Old Olive lends just enough romance to the black and white elegance.
