Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Participating in cardmaking challenges is a sure way to get my creativity into action. Whether it’s a color challenge or a sketch challenge, I feel myself pushed into creating a project that might never have come to mind. You know by now that I’m a sucker for a bird stamp, and the Petal Palette Bundle has a beauty of a bird!

Morning Sun Petal Palette card
This sketch from Less is More Challenge is fun and thought provoking. Perfect! I imagined placing the bird in this scene at once and when choosing colors, I felt it should be warn and sunny. The Petal Palette Suite is really versatile and can help create all sorts of styled projects. With just a few simple colors, this project has a unique look. After stamping the bird with a classic stamp pad, I colored it in with a few Stampin’ Blends markers, attaining the same soft colored effect.
Sponging die cuts
For a graduated level of color, I chose to add sponged on color. Using my stamp pads in Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron, I added color starting from one side of the die cuts and fading it as I moved the sponge inward. For a visual demonstration of this technique and the project, look for the video link below.
