No Line Watercolor card with Video

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! I love the look of no line watercoloring so I recently tried it out with the Bird Banter stamp set. The images are fun and pair very well together and work perfectly for the no line watercolor style.

Bird Banter stamp set

Some stamp sets that are in my stash are a go to for my creative moments. Others I work with are just “sure things” that will never fail to create a card. Bird Banter is one of these guaranteed stamp sets that are sure to bring a smile. Add the benefit that there are clever sentiments and it’s a fun and quick card from start to finish.

No line Watercolor

The basic concept of no line watercolor is to not see the stamped, or drawn, lines in the finished image. By stamping a green bird first with green ink. the stamped lines will not drawn attention from the overall look. Some artists often stamp in a very light colored ink, such a pale pink of pale yellow, and then use any colors of their choosing to fill in the image.

This project was stamped with my classic Stampin’ Up! stamp pads onto watercolor paper and painted with an Aqua Painter. With a few greens, a yellow and red stamp pads, the bird images were colored in a flash. To compliment the colors, I layer a piece of blue Glimmer Paper under the watercolor panel. Without drawing too much attention from the focal point, it adds just enough sparkle. For a visual demonstration of this project, there is a tutorial on my YouTube channel.
