Simple Stamped Ballerina card with Video

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! Today’s card is inspired by the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project cardmaking challenge. The idea is to create a card project that is inspired by a specific card and this month’s design is from the talented Janneke DeJong! Her clean designs never fail to please and I’m using her card as inspiration for my simple stamped ballerina today. Pink and pretty and very easy for you to duplicate with success.

Sugarplum Dreams stamp set

This is a stamp set that I purchased solely due to loving the beautiful images. Among the Nutcracker Prince, the Mouse King and more, there is a lovely dancer. The clean look to the stamped image makes it possible to create a simple stamped ballerina card with little to no fuss at all. Or go over the top and create a theater scene as I have in last week’s project featuring this stamp.

Coloring with Stampin Blends

The colors are soft and muted in this project. To color in the simple stamped ballerina, I used my Stampin Blends alcohol markers after stamping the image in Sahara Sand classic stamp pad. There was no technique to the coloring this go round, just low lights and allowing the white card stock to be the highlight. Leaving white space is not always easy one I get started coloring but taking a very light hand with coloring can often make the end result more pleasing for my design taste.
