Winter Scrapbook theme
A Snowy Mountain winter scene brings two colors to my mind, blue and green. All that white tends to get a blueish look and the trees are always green and thriving with life. I chose this scene to build on my scrapbook page because it’s been floating around in my mind. Once I found this photo of Trip for his first Christmas, it was all tied together for me.
Working from light shade to dark and allowing the layers to build up, I used a Sponge Brayer and Marina Mist ink, and ended with Dapper Denim. The gradual fade into white was only possible for me with the Sponge Brayer, as I am not as skilled with sponges as I’d like to be. I used the brayer and coordinating ink pads with the trees (Old Olive), the deer (Crumb Cake) and the blue trees and background. For sparkle and to help transition the background into white space, I added a new product from the upcoming Occasions Catalog. Shimmery White Embossing Paste is GORGEOUS! It’s a must if yo like to play with Embossing Paste. Just the right amount of glitter ratio to gain sparkle without going too far.
