2017 OnStage Swap Cards
Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today! I have prepared a fun card for my 2017 OnStage swap cards this year. Combining a quick technique with a high volume of cards really helps along the assembly. I’m limiting it to 60 cards due to time constraints but am hoping these cards will last me a few days worth of swapping!
What is a swap card? When at a Stampin’ Up! OnStage event, stampers bring prepared cards to give to other stampers in exchange for the other person’s card. It’s a swap one and get one back affair 🙂 I like the crds I am giving to others to be something that someone would expect to normally receive from me. Being as I love techniques on handmade cards, I added Watercolor ink smooshing to a panel of watercolor paper to get an organic looking background. The sweet ladybug is there to keep the sweetness factor and I added ink splatters to fill the remainder of the design.
2017 OnStage Swap Cards using Sharing Sweet Thoughts
One of my favorite techniques to use on my projects is Ink Smooshing
If you follow my blog, I’m sure you see loads of these cards! Many of the cards I create to feature on my blog have a watercolor element. Ink smooshing is fast and fun, especially when creating a bucket load of cards to swap! Below I have the steps to follow in making this technique that I created for a previous project. It will be fun to see your color choices 🙂
This card was easy to create! Here are the steps I followed for another project with smooshing:
For a visual reference, here is a video tutorial created for a different project, but explains the technique in detail:
Here is a list of supplies used to create this project. Links are provided to allow a link to my online store for purchase, at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your gracious support!
If you are at OnStage and would like to swap this card, find me and I will be happy to meet you and share a hug and a smile. Meanwhile, I hope you find a simple card design and make it your own.
