Project #1 Deer in the Woods Ornament

I’ve always like to give handmade gifts at Christmastime. Crochet items are often packaged up and mailed abroad to family and friends. Creating the projects in the 2017 Christmas Ornament Tutorial Series has really been a joy for me. These are ornaments I’d like to see on my own tree, and can be created with kids and family members with a little advance planning.

Start with die cutting two pieces of paper from Lots of Labels Dies. Choose one die cut in the largest size and another with the next size down. Card Front Builder Dies will lend the deer and trees of your choice. Add sponged color to the edges of all die cuts in corresponding colors and attach with dimensionals or liquid glue.

Tips for this project

Using a Sponge Dauber or a cotton ball, color can be added from your existing stamp pads to the card stock. This is an easy enhancement that kids can add to the memories of creating for loved ones.

To add accents to the deer, one is sponged darker than the other to give depth and division between the two deer.

Try out a very small sentiment from your stash, such as Teeny Tiny Wishes for the banner.
