How to create a foreground with Video for #SIP108 Challenge – Fabulous Floral

Fabulous Floral card

During the month of July I am excited to have been invited to be the Guest Designer at Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge. This week at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge, the theme is Fabulous Floral. This is a great opportunity to create a foreground with contrast to a floral background. Be sure to go over to the page and check out all of the Design Team’s cards this week and if you are up to a challenge…. add a photo of your card as well!

Fabulous Floral Challenge

With many options to create a floral themed card, I thought I’d take a different route this time. This type of challenge can lead to new creative ideas and a chance to use craft supply combinations in new ways. I chose Wood Words stamp set for a floral background to a stack of logs. Color Theory DSP with the ombre’ green tones help to create a calming floral card fit for any occasion or gender. Gold and green are a great go-to color combo.

Create a foreground with Tree Rings background stamp

The foreground is created with Tree Rings background stamp. Inked with a tone on tone look, what would have covered the entire card is now trimmed down to be the foreground focal point of a floral card. For a realistic look, I fussy cut around the tops of the wood pile and ran a brown marker over the edge. This gives a polished, or finished, look to the otherwise plain brown wood pile.
