Stamping on test panels for #GDP095

Stamping on Test Panels

This week at Global Design Project, there is a theme challenge. The idea is to get inspiration from a card idea to create in your new project. I stamping on test panels I created some time ago, paired with Message in a Bottle stamp set in my project today. Be sure to visit the Global Design Project by clicking here.

Special Effect; Stamping on Test Panels

In order to try out new techniques, I often create and stamp on test panels. That involves several pieces of paper panels that go unused in a project, until I find the proper use for them. Sometimes it’s a year until I think of a great way to use a panel, as in the watercolor panel that I used today. About a year ago, I created a few watercolor wash panels using different color combinations. Having several panels left me with a few spares to put away for future projects. I recently started crafting with Glossy White paper and while testing out the paper with different mediums, I created this green panel.

These panels can be used as a background in a cardmaking project or, as I’ve done today, they can be stamped and heat embossed to feature a fun colored stamped image. The pink/yellow panel is a fun color to feature mermaids and the green panel has a perfect underwater look. Paired together with a few fun stamps and here is a mish-mash of paper that would never have been put together, except for their common circumstances of being test panels. My kids love this mermaid stamp and with a kids theme challenge, it’s perfect.

The pink/yellow panel was created using watercolor wash technique. Here is an example of this technique.

The green panel was created using Glossy White paper and rubbing alcohol with ink refills. Here is an example of this technique.
