Muted tones with Oh So Eclectic

Muted Tones

Muted tones are a change of pace in creating a project. It’s not the first choice for most crafters but can often be a go-to when in need of inspiration. The theme challenge this month at Paper Chain Gang Challenge is to create a card with a set of colors. My inspiration for this card was taken from the challenge. Please check out all of the cards on their FaceBook page.

New products are available for purchase to the public NOW! If you would like to join now then you can get them in your Starter Kit for $99 including shipping costs. I would love to have you as a member of my team. It is totally okay to join for the discount and not create a business! If you have any questions, please email me at and I am here to help you.

Design Details

Working with a color combo of Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum and Fresh fig, I chose to go with florals. Striking combinations of white heat embossing on brown really compliment simple stamping and help to bring the design around the card. Crumb Cake has a green base and translates well for stamping on the leaves. The background is also stamped in Crumb Cake to give a muted tone on tone feel to the project.

Muted Tones

To help create the muted tones, it helps to work in multiple generations of stamping.  Once the stamp is inked up, use a scrap paper to stamp the image before bringing the stamp to the card stock. The ink that has remained on the stamp will lend a lighter shade of color and can work to help create depth on your project. The details were heat embossed in white to set them apart from the rest of the card and tie together the grouping of flowers.
