Large die cut sentiments in a simple card

Using a large die cut for a generic sentiment can be an easy way to create a focal point and lend great texture to a card project. When hunting through stamp sets to complete the sentiment, an opportunity is presented to make all sorts of cards. When my oldest son got a look at this card, he simply said… “hello”. I think the message was conveyed in a way that even a six year old will feel at first glance 🙂

Design Details

This project started with the paper. I’ve had this gorgeous sheet of Pop of Pink DSP paper in my stash for a while and have been waiting for just the right way to let it show off. By pairing the Hello You Thinlits Dies, this card has a powerful effect. I wanted to design this card to be a very bright and shiny hello when it is removed from the envelope.

The pink on black letters are feminine but don’t overpower the patterned paper too much. There is much more I can do to decorate this card front but for today I want to let it stand on it’s own. In a video later this week, I will remake this card and show one way to take a simple design such as this one, and add some accessories that you could pull from your craft stash to make it your own. Stay tuned for how it turns out!
