Moon Baby card for #WWYS103

The What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog‘s theme this week is to use Moon Baby stamp set on a card project. Here is my project for using this stamp set. To view the challenge cards from the design team and from crafters like me and you, click here to go to the blog page.

Once I saw the umbrella image with the sentiment, “showers of happiness”, I knew the Softly Falling Embossing Folder would need to be included into this project. The embossed image looks like falling snow or rain, either one can be called a shower 🙂  The embossed panel is attached to the layer with Snail adhesive.

Measurements for this project:
card base of Chocolate Chip card stock: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″  (folded and scored from 4 1/4″ x 11″)
Whisper White layer: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Whisper White embossed panel: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock scraps for die cuts

The colors are neutral and modest, to allow the embossed layer to do it’s work as a main ingredient in this project. For the center medallion, I first stamped the baby image with Chocolate Chip ink onto white card stock. Using the largest square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits, I placed the die where the baby is partly in the square. To cut around the baby with the square die, I was careful to lay the top cutting plate only over the area to be cut. It needed to be turned a few times in order to get all four corners under the die to be cut, but it was not difficult. The baby image was then easy to fussy cut and leave it as a part of the square die cut. The brown scalloped square is cut from a Layering Square Framelit (as a full square, no fussy cutting).

Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you so much for your support with your purchase 🙂

When gifting a card that will land into someone’s hand, it’s not always the first thought for adding texture. However, it may often be the one thing that is remembered about your card. Don’t forget to pop over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge to see all of the great cards. Thanks for stopping by today, I hope to have you here again soon 🙂
