Carousel Birthday card sets

Here is a new stamp set I have been waiting to try out from the 2017 Occasions Catalog. There are so many great things to choose from in this catalog that I have been anxious to share them all with you. I am so excited with the Carousel Birthday stamp set! To show the versatility of this stamp, I am making one card design that will appeal to anyone. Right, anyone.

The card base in the blue and brown card photo is made from Early Espresso card stock, which is sturdy enough to hold the panels well. I layered a piece of white under the card front to frame the image and lend stability to the card as a whole. The focal point is a large medallion in the middle of the card to hold the sentiment. The ink coordinates with the card base.

Measurements for this project are:
-Card Base: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ made from each brown card stock
-White cardstock scraps for center medallion and coordinating brown scraps for oval frame
-Whisper White card stock (for the stamping) cut at 4 ” x 5 1/4″
-Whisper White (for the layer) card stock cut at  4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″

Here are the three color schemes:

-Early Espresso , Soft Sky & Marina Mist
-Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz & Old Olive
-Tip Top Taupe, Pink Pirouette & Sweet Sugarplum

By making three cards of the same design, I want to demonstrate how the overall look of the card changes to be able to fit a child or adult, a male or female. In choosing the inks to feature, I chose a light and dark shade of the same color. For example, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz have the same base color but are different shades. This design would look really nice in purples or oranges as well. I had to stop myself at three cards but could have kept stamping! After ink was dry, I colored the horses with Clear Wink of Stella to truly set them apart from the white paper. Just enough shimmer to catch the eye.

Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items, at no additional cost to you, as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂

Using a stamp as your background can make an easy card design. Try out this design and share a photo with me so I can give you a shout out on a future blog post. I would LOVE to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by today.
