Encouragement card for #GDP072 with video

This week, the Global Design Project challenge is CASE’ing designer Krista Frattin in a cardmaking project. The idea is to create a card design that will feature one or more of the design elements from Krista’s card. I have had an idea for some time, to use the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper as a card front, and it will fit this challenge very well. To view the projects for this challenge, please visit the Global Design Project page by clicking here

I chose the colors to compliment the patterned paper, Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride. I started out with the card base made of Very Vanilla (measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and knew I would use the Blushing Bride as a layer for the patterned paper. I stamped with Sahara Sand ink, onto a Stitched Shapes Framelit square with a sentiment from Sending Thoughts stamp set. This set is jam packed full of sentiments that are an abundant resource not only for card fronts but for inside the card as well. It all works together to create an overall pleasing effect.

Krista’s card features two lines of ribbon that tie the design together. This Stitched Satin Ribbon looks very pretty with all of the vanilla color in the card. I finished off the project with a few sparkly sequins. Very easy design and quick construction!

I created a video tutorial demonstration for this project. CLICK HERE to view the video or watch below.
