Avant Garden vellum birthday card

Today I am playing with the Avant Garden stamp set. It’s an interesting set of images that allow you to create a birthday card or a thank you card and has two different flower images. I earned this stamp set free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I have been playing with the idea of using a vellum window for a while and thought this flower image may suit the need.

For the card base I started off with Thick Whisper White card stock. Once it is scored and folded, it measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (standard US card base). I used a layer of Mint Macaron card stock that measures 1/8″ smaller than the card base, and finished up with a top layer of Blooms & Bliss DSP. I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut away a portion of the card. I cut away a circle into card base, the Mint Macaron and the patterned paper. The vellum layer is sandwiched in between the card base and Mint Macaron and secured with Snail Adhesive. This window area add texture and interest to the card project.

The floral image on the vellum is made with white heat embossing. The sentiment is perhaps my favorite part of the card. I used a scrap of white paper and Sahara Sand card stock. I stamped with Island Indigo and Mint Macaron, off setting the stamps slightly from one another. The lighter ink creates a drop shadow, giving the impression of dimension. I hung this unit from the ribbon/bow and allowed it to dangle free.

Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items as well. Thank you so much for your support with your purchase 🙂
