The moment I had a first look at this free with purchase stamp set, I thought of using the images for edge cut away. There are many to choose from. but for this first card I kept it really simple and used a scallop. The rest of this card put itself together, basically!
For the card base I started off with Thick Whisper White card stock. Once it is scored and folded, it measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (standard US card base). I used a layer of retired black card stock that measures 2″ x 4 1/2″ and finished up with a top layer of Regular White card stock that I used in a die cut. For a nice balance visually, this embossed black paper with the diagonal lines could be duplicated with any embossing folder. The perfect pairing of elegance!
The sentiment is taken from All Things Thanks, a new stamp set from the Occasions catalog. This image fits nicely into the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and can really stand up as the focal point in a project. The edgelit was easy to create. First I stamped the image starting at the left edge, about an inch away from the outside edge of the card front. The stamp was not long enough to stamp the entire card front so I brought it around to the finish line and added the last inch or so to match the finished design. It looks like one continuous line to me and that was my goal 🙂 I then used the scissors to cut away just outside the stamped line. For dramatic effect, I glued a strip of black card stock to the inside edge of the card, so it can be seen from the outside under the scalloped edge.
Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items as well. Thank you so much for your support with your purchase 🙂
