Gift Card Holder with video

Let’s make our own gift card holder! It’s easy and quick and customized to suit your own style of gift giving. I modeled this project after a swap I received in Secaucus, NJ at OnStage.

If you find this project challenging, please refer to the video below that gives exact how-to instructions.

The finished card holder measures 5 1/2″ wide by 3″ high. I used white cardstock with an embossed design but you can use any sturdy card that fits your design. Here are all of the measurements we will use:

White card base will start at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
(we will score this at 3″, 4 1/4″ & 5 1/2″ )

Layers on the card front are:
5 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ from solid colored cardstock
5″ x 2 1/2″ from patterned paper

Close the “pocket” closest to the top of the card by using Fast Fuse and flip it to the inside and cut a notch on the tab to hold the gift card.

I also made a medallion to hold the sentiment, that was cut from Layering Ovals Framelits. Use whichever size fits the need of the your stamp area.

Once the white cardstock is scored, the rest of the project brings itself together very quick. I used my Stampin Trimmer to score the paper and a bone folder to burnish the folds. To close the top pocket, I used Fast Fuse adhesive along what will be the topmost area of the card. Once closed at the top, cut a notch on the tab inside of the card for holding the gift card. NOw you can decorate the card front in any fashion you like. For an exact how-to demonstration, please watch the video as below.

Here is a list of supplies I used to make this card project. Links are here that you can click to get product info and purchase items as well. Thank you for your support with your purchase 🙂

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I just love this project! I have made several gift card holders using this method and will lock it away in my mental filing cabinet for future use as well. The Stitched Framelits will work great for this project…  Birthday cards will never be the same! I hope you find a simple card design and make it your own.  Lets make it together!
