Fall/Harvest theme Easel card for #PCGC023

Fall is here! My favorite season of the year, with cool breezes blowing in my window and wind chimes singing throughout the day. Once it gets a wee bit more cool, I will start seasonal baking. For today, I have a picture in my mind of colorful trees dropping their leaves.  The Paper Chain Gang Challenge for this week is a Fall/Harvest theme card. Perfect to show off seasonal colors!

I used Painter’s Palette stamp set with the image of an art easel to set up this card’s scene. The Layering Square Framelits dies has a square that is perfect for adding an additional “canvas” to this artful scene, so I used a piece of white cardstock to die cut a square. Using a separate square allowed me to use a large stamped image that would fit over the square and allow me to add elements to just this piece.

All of the color is focused on the die cut square. The sentiment and “canvas” images are from Sheltering Tree stamp set. I like the fluid movement of the handwriting script in the sentiment that is in contrast to the rest of the card. Have you visited a museum or art gallery, and noticed they are very bland in decor and color? This is one way to help the art take the focus and come alive. This art scene is alive inside my head 🙂
