My kids love shaker cards, I like shaker cards, people just love shaker cards! We all send and receive many cards throughout the year and I suppose that when a card does something special, it makes the occasion that much more fun. There is just something special about a shaker card.
What I wanted to do different with this particular shaker card is in two parts. First, I found a package of “faux snow” in my craft cabinet that is tiny styrofoam balls. I could just see these working well in a shaker card and decided to use them on my next one. Second, I felt the need to use the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate as of late. So, I began thinking about a project that would combine these two items in a way that would allow them to work together. Dots on the acetate + tiny snow balls + snowflake dsp = a snow themed shaker card.
For the shaker filler, I used the faux snow balls, some clear mica flakes and the new Fancy Frost Sequins. It’s very easy to over fill a shaker card so I tried to keep the filling in balance. The acetate with foil dots does work to give the look of snow, but in retrospect I would prefer to have a clear window in order to see every bit of the lovely shaker area.
Here is a list of supplies, with links for item info, that I used to make this card.
