Good day, crafters! Today’s card is made for the Paper Chain Gang Challenge over on Facebook. The theme challenge tasks us to create a patriotic themed card. This was a tough one come up with. I have an unwritten rule that I must use what cardmaking supplies I have on hand for a challenge, and not make any special purchases. I do not own a patriotic stamp, so it’s all up to the old thinking cap to come up with an idea.
I suppose what makes me feel patriotic can form itself in many ways. Among all of the dies I have in my supply, I chose the word peace and a star die. I cut a card panel with the star die to allow the colors underneath to show, plus added a few more gold stars on the card front for interest. The sentiment is made from three die cuts stacked upon one another. Two layers of white fun foam and a top layer of gold foil. This unit gave the card dimension and focused the word peace by drawing the eye in.
Here is a video I made featuring this card.
Here is a list of supplies I used in making my card:
Thanks for visiting today. I hope you are inspired to use die cuts in a different way and repurpose your Christmas cardmaking supplies to last through the year 🙂
