Jolly Lights from Forever Evergreen stamp set, with a video

Making new use of a stamp set is a great feeling. When I look at an image, there are times when a card idea comes to me at once. There are other times when another idea comes forward and it is so different from the first reaction, that is needs to marinate for a few days. I knew when I saw the string of Christmas lights, that I would need to make a card that featured those lights all over the card.

I pictured the lights as part of a festive celebration where lights were strung up across a night sky backdrop and they tinkled as far as the eye could see. To get this effects, I chose to use watercolor markers on watercolor paper. I have had great success with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in this technique. I chose all of the blues in my set and scribbled color onto the paper. Using a wet paintbrush, I added water to the paper and the paint reacted to disperse the color.  To lift the color and give the spotted effect, I drizzled clean water onto the card and lifted it with a dry paper towel.

Gold glitter glue filled in the light bulbs and the sentiment is a large die cut from gold glitter paper. This is possibly the most sparkly card I have made to date!

Here is a construction and coloring video for this card.
